John Keawe is a songwriter and slack-key guitarist, born on Hawaiʻi Island, in the little town of Hawi in North Kohala. John grew up with rock and roll music and enjoyed listening to singer/songwriters.
After a four-year tour in the Navy, John returned to his home and was drawn to the sound of Hawaiian slack-key. He listened, watched, and taught himself to play this style of music. Over the years, he has developed a distinct style that has earned him many accolades and awards, including multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, and a Grammy!
We hope you can join us for a wonderful evening in the preserve with the one-and-only, John Keawe.
