Volunteers will have the opportunity to experience a lowland wiliwili dry forest ecosystem and learn about conservation in Hawai‘i. Education will focus on topics such as native Hawaiian flora and fauna (including common and endangered species), cultural practices and resources, history, threats to the forest, solutions to conservation problems, forest stewardship, management strategy and philosophy. Volunteer activities may include fuel reduction, invasive species removal, survey, trail construction, seed collection, native plant propagation, monitoring and out-planting. Other activities and opportunities will arise as the program evolves.
